Alix is a local WA artist that creates bold, colourful artworks that reflect her love of beautiful mark making and dramatic composition, learned in her years as a Graphic designer and illustrator.
Having grown up by the sea with horses and dogs, her favourite subjects include working dogs, farm animals and sea birds.
A self confessed colour junkie my work is always lively and vibrant. Using Impressionistic style brushwork, I strive to capture the mood using acrylic underpainting and then oil paint in many layers and thin washes with some heavy impasto over the top.
As well as spending many hours in my studio, I do as much Plein Air painting as possible and my work is usually for sale at most of the larger art shows in Perth. I will consider commissions too.
My work is also held in the corporate collections of Hancock Prospecting, Roy Hill, Marubeni Corporation, POSCO and China Steel Corporation.
